BEAM CALCULATIONS (UK)

Please read below if your structural design project is within M25 and nearby towns/villages and you do not have drawings.

1/ Greater London (within M25) site visits are suitable for small or medium residential projects ie. straightforward wall knock through or loft conversions. More complex designs may require few site visits and design meetings (extra fees apply).
 
2/ We offer a site visit/inspection incl. a dimensional general layout drawing which is to be incorporated into your calculations (NOT full plans or building regs plans) and steel beams or other straightforward structural elements calculations and design    (incl. cad fix details where required)
 
3/ Please note that the fees for a site visit does not include the calculations ! and the site visit booking must be prepaid via bank transfer. Calculations fees are agreed once the proposed scheme/alteration/extension/conversion is finalised on paper.

4/ We are structural engineers not architects, architectural technicians or planners who you would normally hire for planning drawings or construction (Building Regs) drawings. If in doubt please discuss with us before booking a site visit. 

Fees : 
A site visit will cost you around £350-650+VAT depending on your location and property type ie. a bungalow single storey property will tend to be £350, while a 2 or 3 storey property will increase by £150 per floor. Fees include a site visit/inspection + floor plan general layout drawing (dimensional survey) to be incorporated into calculations sheet; Calculations for structural elements such as steel beams, columns, steel frames, rafters, pad foundations, floor or flat roof joists etc.. will cost you extra depending on project, but fees will be reasonable as advertised on our website. 
 
For example fees for a site visit in 1-3 zone including a dimensional drawing (of single storey house) of proposed and a single beam/padstone calculation will cost you apprx. £400+VAT. While a site visit in 4-6 zones and say a loft conversion drawings including calcs for 4-5 steel beams, chimney end post to ridge beam, floor and dormer flat roof joists will cost you around £1000+VAT (incl. loft beams end plate splice calcs/specs where crane can not be used for some reason.) 

Site visits days:   
We do site visits on Tuesday & Wednesday  and occasionally on the Weekends. 

 

Express service:

Express service is available, but typically at double the quoted fees and must be prepaid.
